Creating a Nickname
E-mail addresses are usually fairly long and hard to remember. Eudora gives you the option of creating a "nickname", or alias, for e-mail addresses. This means, instead of typing jdoe@ux4.cso.uiuc.edu every time you want to e-mail Jane Doe, you can set up a nickname called Jane.
Now, every time you want to mail Jane, all you have to type is Jane and Eudora will know to send the message to jdoe@ux4.cso.uiuc.edu. (A single nickname can also be used to reporesent a mailing list--that is, a nickname "friends" could send an e-mail messsage to jdoe@ux4.cso.uiuc.edu, person@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu, and stacey@calvin.edu.)
Here's how:
- Select Nicknames from the Window menu. The Nicknames window is then displayed.
- Click the New button below the Nickname: list
- Type the nickname in the New Nickname dialog and click OK.

- Type the full e-mail address(es) in the Address(es): field.

- If you have any comments related to the nickname, type these in the field directly below the Address(es): field.
- Select Save from the File menu to save the nickname.
